Western Michigan forward Matteo Costantini has signed a two-year deal with the Rochester Americans, it was announced Tuesday.

A 2020 fifth round pick of the Buffalo Sabres, Costantini spent the entire 2024-25 season with the Broncos, scoring eight goals and adding 15 assists for 23 points in 40 games. Over four NCAA seasons (two at Western Michigan and two with North Dakota), Costantini collected 29 goals and 49 assists for 78 points in 138 games.

Before heading off to the NCAA, Costantini spents parts of two seasons playing for the OJHL's Buffalo Jr. Sabres and one season in the USHL with the Sioux City Musketeers. His best season offensively came with the Jr. Sabres in 2019-20 where he accumulated 68 points in 50 regular season games.

With Costantini joining the Americans, they're getting a player who should have the ability to make an impact on both sides of the puck. Capable of creating plays and taking them away, Costantini should find success during his first foray into professional hockey.
