Western Michigan defenseman Brian Kramer has signed a one-year deal in Finland with SaiPa, it was announced late last week.
Kramer, a product of Wexford, Penn., spent this past season with the Broncos, collecting two goals and 15 assists for 17 points in 42 games. Over 170 career NCAA games with Western Michigan, AIC and Robert Morris, Kramer scored 21 goals and added 64 assists for 85 points.
Prior to playing at the collegiate level, Kramer spent parts of three seasons playing junior hockey with the NAHL's Corpus Christi IceRays and the USHL's Fargo Force. His best offensive season came in Corpus Christi where he accumulated 28 points in 58 games during his first full junior season.
A smart, puck moving defender, Kramer has the wherewithal needed to make an impact in Finland's top league (Liiga). Having played an important part for the Broncos on their run to the national championship, Kramer gets set for the next journey in his hockey career – one that should prove to be successful.
