A Blues defensive prospect and WHL captain brings his booming shots and bone-jarring hits to the University of Connecticut.

Spokane Chiefs captain William McIsaac announced his NCAA Commitment to the University of Connecticut yesterday evening. The defenseman is a 2024 fifth round draft pick of the St. Louis Blues. Through 63 games this season, he has 32 points (7 goals + 25 assists).

McIsaac can tee up howitzer shots from the blue line seemingly at will. He isn't particularly flashy on offense, but often comes in clutch when his team most needs a jolt. That energy doesn't just come from forechecking, but also by blowing up opponents with his 6 foot 3, 205 pound frame.

For a bigger player McIsaac is skilled at skating, maneuvering himself well into proper positioning. His size, tenacity and skating should translate well at the collegiate level. As a 2006 born 19 year old, McIsaac does have a year of junior eligibility remaining, but there is a distinct possibility he could join the Huskies this fall.
