Renouf played for the Providence Bruins last season

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed former Maine defender Dan Renouf to a one-year deal, the team announced Monday.

Renouf, a product of Pickering, Ont., spent the 2023-24 season with the Providence Bruins where he scored five goals and added 16 assists for 21 points in 63 regular season games. Renouf also saw four playoff games with Providence, going pointless in the process.

Prior to beginning his pro career at the end of the 2015-16 season, Renouf spent three seasons with the Black Bears where he had 38 points in 111 career games.

As Renouf joins the Penguins, he will most likely play a big role for the team on and off the ice. With young defensive prospects in the pipeline likely to play AHL games, Renouf will be able to guide the players and show them how to adapt to the pro game.
