Sixteen-year-old playmaker Nathan Kydd commits to the Warriors following a postseason stint in Sherwood Park, bringing a scoring touch and high-level grit to North Andover.
A 16 year old center from the BCHL's Sherwood Park Crusaders announced his collegiate home late yesterday. Nathan Kydd revealed he will play NCAA Division I hockey at Merrimack College.
Kydd spent most of last season with the Weeks Major Midgets U18 in his home province of Nova Scotia, averaging well over a point per game. However, the Crusaders called him up for the last two regular season games and postseason. In nine playoff outings, Kydd earned 3 points (2 goals + 1 assist) with 8 penalty minutes.
The Bedford, NS native was also drafted by the Shawinigan Cataractes in the 10th Round (190th Overall) of the 2025 QMJHL Draft. While it is unclear where Kydd will suit up next season, it appears he could head to Quebec based on an April 30th Instagram post where captioned "Thank you @spcrusaders." Wherever he goes, Kydd will bring his scoring touch with him
