    Jackson Hallum's overtime winner completed the hat trick and Michigan's sweep over Boston University this past weekend. The junior forward was named the Big Ten's Second Star of the Week.

    The Big Ten Conference announced its Three Stars of the Week for Week 5 on Tuesday.

    First Star: Evan Werner (Michigan)

    Evan Werner had an impressive performance during Michigan's road sweep against Boston University. 

    The sophomore forward recorded four points on three goals and one assist between the two games. He scored the game-winning goal in a 5-1 contest on Friday and established a career-best three points on two goals and one assist. 

    Werner finished the weekend with a +4 plus/minus rating, seven shots, and one blocked shot, contributing to the Wolverine's highest-ranked road sweep in program history. 

    This marks Werner’s first Big Ten weekly honor.

    Second Star: Jackson Hallum (Michigan)

    Jackson Hallum registered a hat trick in the Wolverines’ thrilling 5-4 overtime victory on Saturday to complete the weekend sweep against Boston University. 

    The junior forward played a pivotal role, helping the team rally from behind on two occasions, tying the game with a power play goal in the third period and scoring the decisive goal with 1:47 left in the extra session. 

    With four goals so far this season, he has already surpassed his total from the previous year. 

    This marks the Vegas Golden Knights draft pick's first Big Ten weekly honor.

    Third Star: Riley Thompson (Ohio State)

    Riley Thompson accumulated one goal and five assists and helped Ohio State to a weekend sweep against Lake Superior State in Columbus. 

    The sophomore forward won 54.3 percent of his faceoffs, recorded a +6 plus/minus rating, and blocked four shots as Ohio State secured a 9-3 victory on Friday and a 6-2 win on Saturday. 

    He contributed to six of Ohio State's 15 goals on the weekend, as the Buckeyes extended their winning streak to seven games. 

    The transfer from Alaska Anchorage picks up his first Big Ten weekly honor.
