The New York Rangers have signed defenseman Jackson Dorrington to a three-year, entry-level contract.
Dorrington was acquired by the Rangers from the Vancouver Canucks in January as part of the blockbuster trade involving J.T. Miller.
The 20-year-old will report to the Hartford Wolf Pack of the American Hockey League on an amateur tryout agreement for the remainder of the season.
After being selected in the sixth round of the 2022 NHL Draft by the Canucks, Dorrington joined Northeastern University where he’s spent the past three seasons.
He also spent one season in the United States Hockey League with the Des Moines Buccaneers before his collegiate playing days.
In 37 games with Northeastern through the 2023-24 campaign, Dorrington recorded two goals, 13 assists and 15 points.
