New Jersey Devils star forward Jack Hughes is injured, but Jesper Bratt will take his place at the NHL All-Star Game while Mat Barzal fills in for the skills competition. Adam Proteau reacts.

Jack Hughes won't be on the ice participating in the NHL All-Star Game or skills competition due to an upper-body injury.
Instead, New Jersey Devils teammate Jesper Bratt is taking his place for the game, while New York Islanders center Mat Barzal takes his place in the All-Star Skills event.
Hughes will still be a co-captain with his brother, Quinn Hughes, for Thursday's all-star fantasy player draft. However, since each team has a captain and alternate captain already on the team, the NHL named Vancouver Canucks forward Elias Pettersson as an assistant captain for Team Hughes.
