Flyers' Jack Nesbitt Trade Complete with 2 Penguins Draft Picks
The Philadelphia Flyers shocked many when they traded with the Pittsburgh Penguins to draft Jack Nesbitt, but the price paid might not be so bad after all.
The Flyers did get their center in the first round of the 2025 NHL Draft, just not the one everyone expected.
Instead, they traded the 22nd and 31st overall picks to the Penguins, who used those picks to draft Bill Zonnon and William Horcoff, for the 12th pick.
That 12th pick ultimately became Jack Nesbitt, a rapidly rising, big 6-foot-5 pivot with some skill, but still rough around the edges.
Flyers fans seemed to be pretty divided with this move, though the Penguins didn't exactly make good on some of their picks either.
The biggest concern seems to be that the Flyers traded with a division rival to acquire a center who they themselves see as a middle-six player just outside the top 10.
But, the upside is there.
