Former Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price grew up in a remote community in British Columbia with no rink. So, he learned to skate on a creek.

Here's today's NHL Nugget – this edition of Shinny or Nothing looks at former longtime Montreal Canadiens goaltender Carey Price.

Price grew up in Anahim Lake, B.C., a remote community of nearly 400 people and no arena. His mother, Lynda, is a former chief of the Ulkatcho First Nation, and decided it would be best for him to grow up close to his roots.

Price learned to skate on the creek behind his home, and the rest is history. Watch the video for the story.
