

Regardless of what the language commission in Quebec orders buses in Montreal to use on their signs, the Montreal Canadiens must be better at home than they were on the road if they want to extend their first-round series against the Washington Capitals.
Quebec's French-language watchdog made a stir off the ice recently when it ordered that buses in Montreal could not sport the sign "Go Habs Go" because those are English words. It has forced them to go with "Allez Canadiens Allez" instead.
Friday's update is that from now on, the minister responsible for French in Quebec will ignore an "Go Habs Go" complaints from now on.
But whether the Canadiens are spurred on in English, French, Chinese or Serbo-Croatian, they're going to have to be much better in Games 3 and 4 at home than they were in Games 1 and 2 on the road. Only the goaltending of Samuel Montembeault kept them in the games in Washington.
