Dylan Larkin has played his final game with the Detroit Red Wings as he awaits a trade. In his pursuit of a trade, NHL insider Elliotte Friedman reported that Larkin could alter his list of destinations.

Dylan Larkin's trade request from this past off-season still hasn't been fulfilled by the Detroit Red Wings and interim GM Shawn Horcoff. After playing 10 games this season, it was revealed that Larkin would not play for the Red Wings anymore until a trade occurred. As a result, the team suspended him without pay.

In the midst of Larkin seeking to be traded, he expanded his original list of teams from three to 10. On Saturday, it was reported that he could alter his list in the next day or so.

"I think over the next 24 to 48 hours, it's possible we see that trade list altered," Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said on the 'Saturday Headlines' segment.

Teams such as the Panthers, Golden Knights and Avalanche seem like unlikely partners for the Red Wings in a trade involving Larkin, as Friedman noted in his report.

Colorado has $8,854 in salary cap space, Vegas has $438,330, and Florida has $1.41 million of wiggle room, according to puckpedia.com. Based on cap space, let alone available assets to make Detroit satisfied, "it's very hard to see anything like that happening, if not, impossible," Friedman said on the air.

Therefore, the former Red Wings captain is expected to change his list even further. That could mean adding more teams to his list in place of others, or simply removing teams he doesn't really have a chance of joining.

Larkin himself carries an $8.7-million cap hit and is in his fourth year of an eight-year contract with a no-trade clause until 2027-28. For the last three years of his deal, beginning in 2028-29, he has a 10-team trade clause.

The 30-year-old has two goals and six points in 10 games this season. Last year, he scored 34 goals and 67 points in 74 outings.
