Monday night featured a small three-game slate headlined by the Toronto Maple Leafs' final trip to the Saddledome as they took on the Calgary Flames.
Let's run through the biggest storylines that emerged from the weekend, and make sure to check out the video version of this story above.
Flames Heat Up And Take Down Maple Leafs
It's been an eventful week for goaltender Devin Cooley on and off the ice, stopping virtually every shot he's faced while also providing must-watch interviews after each victory for the Flames. The netminder stood tall against the Maple Leafs on Monday, making 26 saves and picking up his fourth straight win. He's only allowed a combined six goals in his last four starts.
It was a tough night for Sergei Bobrovsky, who has now allowed at least three goals in eight of his nine starts with the Maple Leafs this season, despite looking sharper later on in this game.
Red Wings Secure Shootout Win Over Oilers
After losing four of their first five games, the Detroit Red Wings have quietly put together a 4-1-1 record in their previous six. This win came in the shootout over the Edmonton Oilers with Lucas Raymond potting the winner after dishing out two assists in regulation.
Oilers forward Zach Hyman took an awkward hit from Red Wings defenseman Andreas Englund that forced him into concussion protocol. He was visibly shaken by the hit, albeit clean, and did not return to the game. The 34-year-old has a goal in six appearances for the Oilers this season.
