Back in the day when the Montreal Canadiens regularly won championships, local officials would announce that year's Stanley Cup parade would follow, "the usual route."

They haven't been able to say that for more than three decades now. But the way the Canadiens are looking these days, it might not be too long before Habs fans see their team being led down Rue Ste-Catharine with the most beautiful trophy in sports in their hands.

With a playoff spot ever so close to becoming reality this year, and with The Hockey News' No. 1 prospect, Ivan Demidov, on the way, the Canadiens are building toward something special.
