MONTREAL (Ticker) -- Several defensive lapses have caused the
Montreal Canadiens to slip into a season-worst losing streak.
After having lost four games in a row, the Canadiens are seeking
a better effort when they host the Los Angeles Kings on
Saturday.
The Canadiens ended their five-game road trip with four straight
losses after skating past Ottawa, 5-4, in a shootout on January
17.
Montreal has surrendered four or more goals in every game during
that stretch and Carey Price, the Eastern Conference's starting
netminder in Sunday's All-Star Game, has given up 15 goals in
the last three contests.
Price's struggles continued on Thursday, when the Canadiens fell
to the Florida Panthers, 5-1.
Meanwhile, the Kings have won three games in a row following a
four-game skid.
Rookie Jonathan Quick turned aside 31 shots and captain Dustin
Brown recorded two goals and an assist as Los Angeles skated to
5-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Thursday.
Alexander Frolov notched a goal and an assist, Patrick
O'Sullivan netted a shorthander and Jarret Stoll also tallied
for Los Angeles, which has scored 16 times during its current
run.
The Kings last won four in a row from November 6-13.
