MONTREAL - The Montreal Canadiens continued their busy week by signing forward Kyle Chipchura to a one-year contract Saturday.

The move comes a day after the Canadiens announced a three-year deal with forward Travis Moen and a one-year contract with free agent defenceman Paul Mara.

The 6-2, 204-pound Chipchura registered three assists and five penalty minutes in 13 regular-season games with the Habs last season.

He had 35 points (14 goal, 21 assists) with 65 penalty minutes and a plus-28 rating in 51 games with Montreal's AHL affiliate the Hamilton Bulldogs.

Chipchura was selected by the Canadiens in the first round, 18th overall, in the 2004 draft.
