VANCOUVER, British Columbia (Ticker) -- The Vancouver Canucks
are hoping the All-Star break helps stop their free-fall.
The Canucks will attempt to end a six-game losing streak when
they square off against the Nashville Predators on Wednesday.
Vancouver has continued to slide despite being in a stretch of
playing nine of 10 games at home, acquiring free-agent Mats
Sundin and getting All-Star goaltender Roberto Luongo back from
injury.
Before the All-Star break, the Canucks were dealt a 2-1 overtime
loss in San Jose - their only road contest over a 32-day
stretch. Vancouver is starting a four-game homestand but will
play seven of its next following games on the road.
The Predators are trying to end a three-game losing streak.
Nashville has not scored more than two goals in each of its last
five contests, posting a 1-4-0 record over that stretch.
Coming out of the All-Star break with the second-worst record in
the Western Conference, the Predators are starting a three-game
road trip through Western Canada.
