A fan favorite in Colorado, Darren Helm is sticking with the Avalanche after signing an extension on Wednesday.

The ultimate glue guy is sticking around.
The Colorado Avalanche have signed Darren Helm to a one-year extension with an AAV of $1.25 million.
Helm, 35, spent over a decade with the Detroit Red Wings before joining the Colorado Avalanche last summer. Helm had 15 points in 68 regular season games but capped it off with a five-point run in 20 playoff games.
Helm's teammates loved him for his ability to play a physical, energetic style that can kill penalties and contribute the odd goal from time to time. He had a career-high 15 goals and 33 points during the 2014-15 season with the Red Wings.
It's going to be a busy summer for the Avalanche, and this is just the beginning.
