According to Canadian sports network TSN, the Phoenix Coyotes will be without captain Shane Doan for an extended period of time after a collision with Dallas defenseman Niklas Grossman Friday.
Doan has three points and a minus-5 rating in nine games this season. The team says his status will be evaluated on a "week-to-week" basis.
