
OTTAWA - Kurt Kleinendorst is the new head coach of the Ottawa Senators' American Hockey League affiliate in Binghamton.
He has signed a two-year deal that will keep him with the B-Sens through 2011-12 season.
Kleinendorst, 49, spent last season as the head coach of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program's under-18 team. He also served as an assistant coach for the U.S., at the 2008 world junior championship.
A native of Grand Rapids, Minn., Kleinendorst spent three seasons as head coach of the AHL's Lowell Devils, from 2006-07 to 2008-09.
Kleinendorst, who was a fourth-round draft pick of the New York Rangers in 1980, played professionally for six seasons.
Kleinendorst succeeds Don Nachbaur, who led Binghamton to a 36-35-6-3 record last season before resigning in June.
