LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Florida Panthers need to increase
their offensive output if they plan on ending their losing
streak and finding success on the road.
The Panthers look to snap a four-game slide on Thursday, when
they visit the Los Angeles Kings.
Florida has been outscored, 14-6, while posting a 0-3-1 record
over its previous four games. Three of those losses, including
each of the last two, have come away from home.
The Panthers have earned only three points in their first six
road games and realize they need to step it up if they want to
salvage any of the final three contests of their current
five-game trek.
"We have to be the hardest-working team in the league," said
Florida left wing David Booth, who is tied with Nathan Horton
for second on the team with four goals.
"Let's be honest, in order for us to compete, we need everyone's
A game every night," coach Peter DeBoer said.
The Panthers got off to a slow start start on Sunday, falling
behind by as many as three goals in the second period en route
to a 5-3 loss to the Atlanta Thrashers.
Staples Center may be the ideal venue for the Panthers to get
back on track as the Kings continue to struggle on their home
ice.
Los Angeles is 0-3-2 in its last five home games and owns an
identical record in its last five contests overall. The Kings
on Tuesday endured their third shutout in eight games at home
this season, dropping a 1-0 overtime decision to the Anaheim
Ducks.
