- Jacob and Justin were joined by Witchita Thunder forward Jason Pineo. After finishing his senior season at Niagara University last month, the 25-year-old signed a contract with the Thunder. Since turning pro, Pineo has recorded five points in 11 games. Pineo peeled back the curtain on the process of going from a student-athlete to a pro hockey player within a matter of days.
- Tag Bertuzzi is the prospect of the week. The son of Todd Bertuzzi has recorded 52 points in 61 games this season, split between Norfolk and Tulsa. Justin believes Bertuzzi, who is playing on an ECHL contract, has caught the eye of AHL teams.
- The Maine Mariners are the team of the week. Alike their NHL affiliate, the Boston Bruins, Maine has been backstopped by a balanced goalie tandem of Michael DiPietro and Francois Brassard. But when it comes down to it, Justin thinks Michael DiPietro — 0.917 SP through 28 games — will get the ball and run with it come playoff time.
