New York Rangers captain Jacob Trouba has been suspended twice and fined twice during his NHL career. We found that out when the NHL Department of Player Safety listed Trouba's history of supplemental discipline the last time it suspended Trouba for two games in January for elbowing.

During Tuesday's Game 2 matchup between the Rangers and Carolina Hurricanes, Trouba lined up for a hit on Martin Necas. His left elbow rose up high before he left his feet when Necas dodged the hit.

Only Necas avoiding contact prevented Trouba from getting suspended again. But it brings up the question: Should a guy receive a suspension for intent alone?
