Ryan Kennedy and Michael Traikos look around the NHL and beyond in The Hockey News Pre-Game Show.
This episode opens with a discussion regarding the current state of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Ryan and Michael talk about the team's play of late and whether they are still in Cup contention. Then it's over to Buffalo for the guys' opinions on what their off-season should look like given their rather disappointing year. Next, Ryan and Michael discuss to what degree the Dallas Stars are slept on as a team and also who they would pick as their team MVP this season.
Detroit's Moritz Seider has been leading the Red Wings in average time on ice by nearly three minutes more than the next closest teammate. The guys give their thoughts on whether this will help or hinder his career. The show then switches over quickly to men's college hockey where the annual March Madness field has been widdled down to the Frozen Four. Ryan and Michael discuss the Frozen Four two days in, along with potential NHL prospects in the tournament.
Special guest and Ducks' team-site editor Derek Lee then joins the show remotely to discuss the Ducks' season, how Leo Carlsson's rookie season went and also whether the team will be able to land a top-three pick in the draft. Finally, to close out the show, Ryan and Michael engage in a fan-favorite segment of rapid fire questions from around the world of hockey.
