The Dallas Stars didn't trade any NHL players to acquire defenseman Chris Tanev from the Calgary Flames on Feb. 28.
They instead moved a second-round draft pick in 2024, a 2026 fourth-round pick (to New Jersey for retaining salary) and prospect Artem Grushnikov. They'll also trade a 2026 third-round pick to the Flames if they make the Stanley Cup final.
Meanwhile, the Vancouver Canucks locked down a key piece of their core by signing Elias Pettersson to a contract extension on March 2.
