The 2023 NHL Awards ceremony in Nashville is four months away. There are more than 25 games per team left in the regular season to make any prediction look foolish. Yet, so many players have impressed in their respective positions and roles that a mid-season round of predictions feels necessary.

Ryan Kennedy and Mike Stephens tackled the topic in the Feb. 7 edition of The Hockey News Podcast. Some awards were more straightforward, including the Hart Trophy for the NHL's MVP and the Selke Trophy for best defensive forward. But other honors, such as the Norris Trophy for the best defenseman, got different answers.
