USA Hockey has revealed its official men's roster for the 2026 Olympics in Milan, Italy. The U.S. national teams for the men's, women's and Para hockey teams were announced during the TODAY Show. Their reveal follows Team Canada announcing its men's roster on Wednesday [https://thehockeynews.com/news/latest-news/hockey-canada-reveals-men-s-2026-olympic-roster-full-list], while France revealed theirs [https://www.hockeyfrance.com/a-la-une/2025/12/jeux-olympiques-les-listes-des-equipes-de-france/] earlier in the month. "We're excited about our team and congratulate everyone named today," Team USA GM Bill Guerin said in a statement. "It was incredibly difficult for our management group to get to the final roster, and that's a credit to so many in our country, including all those at the grassroots level who help make our sport so strong. There's nothing like the Olympics, and I know our players and staff will represent our country well and work hard to achieve our ultimate goal." This will be the first time that NHL players will feature in the Olympics since the 2014 Winter Games in Sochi, Russia. As that tournament was almost 12 years ago, not one member of Team USA's 2026 Olympic roster was on that team, which finished fourth. Two players were at the 2022 Olympics before they became NHLers, however. The Americans finished fifth in Beijing, China. Hughes, in particular, was dealing with an injury at the time of the 4 Nations, which kept him out of the tournament. Barring another injury, he'll be a reinforcement to USA's defense. Team USA finished second at the 4 Nations Face-Off, losing the championship game in overtime to Team Canada.
