A by-the-numbers look at Saturday's Ducks vs Rangers game

The Anaheim Ducks (3-2-1) will travel to Madison Square Garden to take on the New York Rangers (5-1-1) on Saturday Night.

The Ducks ended their two-game losing streak with a 3-1 win over the San Jose Sharks on Tuesday while the Rangers had their season opening points streak snapped on Thursday in their game against the Florida Panthers.

This will be the Ducks' first game of a four-game, East Coast road trip where they'll also match up against the likes of the New Jersey Devils, New York Islanders, and Pittsburgh Penguins.

Adam Fox has 10 assists and 11 career points in eight games vs Anaheim. He's off to another hot start in 2024-25, with eight points in seven games (all assists).

Speaking of hot starts, Artemi Panarin has 14 points in the first seven games of the 2024-25 season and has 17 points in 17 career games vs Anaheim.

Mika Zibanejad has 25 points in 19 career games vs the Ducks.

It's unclear who will get the start in net for the Rangers. Igor Shesterkin has started six of seven games this season and is 2-0-0 in his career vs Anaheim with an .850 SV%. Jonathan Quick has started 52 games in his career against the Ducks with a 29-13-9 record, a .912 SV%, and one shutout.

John Gibson joined the Ducks on this road trip but has yet to be activated to the roster. Lukas Dostal in 0-2-0 in his career vs New York with a .873 SV% while James Reimer is 6-5-1 with a .902 SV%.

Trevor Zegras, a Bedford native, grew up a Rangers fan and has two points in four games against New York, including one goal in two games at MSG.

In his rookie season in 2023-24, Leo Carlsson notched two assists in two games agains the Rangers.

Ryan Strome has only managed seven points in 21 games against the Rangers in his career and has zero points in four games since leaving the team to sign with the Ducks in the Summer of 2022.

Troy Terry has seven points in seven career games vs NYR but has only managed one goal while shooting 5.9%. He has points in his last five games and enters play needing one goal to reach 100 in his career. 

The Ducks are 20-17-1-7 all-time against the New York Rangers. This will be the first of two matchups between the two teams in the 2024-25 season with the other scheduled for March 28 at Honda Center in Anaheim.
