We finally got some clarity on the situation...
After long last, we have some updates on the status of restricted free agent Trevor Zegras. The young center for the Anaheim Ducks has been on the open market, but the two sides are expected to come to terms soon. It is expected that the sides will agree to a shorter-term deal, however, because the Ducks want to maintain flexibility down the line. Zegras is still a few years away from unrestricted free agency, so the Ducks see no rush to make any major commitments on the books. General Manager Pat Verbeek is big on flexibility within roster building, so this has his fingerprints all over it.
In other Ducks-related news, the team is looking toward the playoffs this season. Greg Cronin wants no excuses from his guys this season, and we are still waiting on the status of goalie John Gibson.
