As the Anaheim Ducks continue their offseason, we are still waiting to hear about restricted free agent Trevor Zegras. It has been reported that he and the Ducks will likely come to terms on a shorter-term contract. The Ducks want to maintain flexibility down the line, and with Zegras not hitting unrestricted free agency for a few years, Anaheim is okay going short-term. It could make sense for both sides, as Zegras could also maintain his own flexibility to leave if he ever wants to. General Manager Pat Verbeek has put a plan into motion and has executed it well. The team should be much better this coming season, as they try to climb out of the basement of the NHL.
In other Ducks-related news, one expert believes John Gibson has the worst contract on the Ducks.
