Heading into the 2024 offseason, the Ducks had 11 RFAs in their organization who needed to be either qualified or signed to contract extensions if their rights were to be retained.

The team signed Isac Lundestrom, Brett Leason, and Urho Vaakanainen to one-year extensions and qualified Pavol Regenda, Nikita Nesterenko, and Urho Vaakanainen.

The Ducks announced on Friday evening just after they signed their two first-round picks, Beckett Sennecke and Stian Solberg, to ELCs that they'd also signed forward Pavol Regenda (24) to a one-year contract.

In 2023-24, his second season in North America playing for the San Diego Gulls of the AHL, the 6-foot-4 winger scored 19 goals and 34 points in 54 games. He was called up to the Ducks to play five games last season but was held pointless while averaging 11:33 TOI.

Regenda missed six weeks between Nov. 29-Jan. 10 due to injury in 2023-24.

He was signed by the Ducks out of the top Slovakian professional league before the 2022-23 season and performed well enough out of camp to make the opening night roster. He's played a total of 19 NHL games in his two seasons in the Ducks organization and has managed three points while playing primarily fourth-line minutes.

Regenda is seemingly a perfect fit with the organizational style the Ducks are trying to incorporate into their on-ice play. He's an aggressive forechecker who causes mistakes from opposing defenders below the goal line.

He adds positive value with the puck on his stick in the small areas of the ice, especially in front of the net. He gets tips on point shots and wins battles to pot home loose pucks lying around the crease area.

Pat Verbeek has stated on multiple occasions his want for more production to come from the bottom of the Ducks forward group. Regenda could certainly provide that element should he receive a consistent opportunity.

Regenda has represented Slovakia at the last three IIHF World Championship tournaments, scoring 14 points in 23 total games. He played for Slovakia at the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, where he scored four points in seven games.

Regenda's contract is a two-way deal. He will make $775k NHL/$145k AHL and make $160k minimum in the minors.

I'm not sure it would work but I'd love to see them try Bucket with those two. He's got hands and an ability to carry the puck through a crowd, plus as he grows into his frame he could become a monster along the boards and in front of the net.

Eventually, Beckett Sennecke. The trio of Carlsson, Gauthier, and Sennecke would be very difficult for the opposing team to counter. The length all of them possess would allow them to cover the entire width of the ice. They would score a bunch of goals while not giving up much.

silentboba That's a good shout. That trio could do some real damage on both sides of the puck and dominate possession. The only draw back may be that they're all so puck-dominant

Yeah that trio seems inevitable and would be so much fun to watch as they dominate possession
