The 2025 World Championship has concluded, with five Ducks (four players and one team employee) coming away with medals.

Jackson LaCombe and Cutter Gauthier helped  Team USA win their first Worlds gold medal in 92 years, with LaCombe eating big minutes on the blue line in a top pair role while Gauthier had five goals and nine points in 10 games. Both of them scored against Sweden in the semi-final, setting up a matchup with Switzerland in the gold medal game, where Tage Thompson broke the deadlock in overtime.

Competing for bronze for the second consecutive year, Sweden easily dispatched Denmark 6-2. Carlsson added another two points, finishing in a tie with Elias Pettersson for the second-most points by a U20 Swede (10) in a Worlds tournament in the last 30 years.

After spending most of the preliminary games playing alongside Carlsson, Lundeström assumed the role of fourth line center for their matches against Czechia, USA and Denmark. He contributed four points in 10 games, though most of that offense came while playing alongside Carlsson.

The final medal-winning member of the five Ducks who did so is head athletic trainer Chad Walker. Walker concluded his second season as the Ducks’ head athletic trainer in 2024-25 after five seasons as the assistant athletic trainer from 2018-2023.
