The Edmonton Oilers will live to see another day. After losing the first three games of the Stanley Cup Final, they finally flipped the script in Game 4 against the Florida Panthers.
The game finished 8-1, with former Anaheim Duck Adam Henrique scoring the game-winning goal in the rout. It was Henrique’s third goal of the playoffs and his third career goal in a Stanley Cup Final game.
Henrique has struggled to carve out a role during the playoffs due to injuries, mostly relegated to a fourth line role at times, but his line came up big in Game 4. He and his linemates combined for four points in the win.
Corey Perry also appeared on the scoresheet for the first time since Game 4 of the Western Conference Final against the Dallas Stars, picking up the secondary assist on Dylan Holloway’s second goal.
On the other side of the ice, Anthony Stolarz made his Stanley Cup Playoffs debut after relieving Sergei Bobrovsky, who allowed five goals in just over one period of play. Stolarz stopped 16 of the 19 shots he faced in his playoff debut.
The series now shifts back to Florida, with the Panthers looking to end things on home ice. The Oilers were 29-0-0 during the regular season under head coach Kris Knoblauch after losing three consecutive games. They must keep up this streak to prevent their season from ending.
