Mighty Rebrand coming soon for the Ducks

Ducks fans have been calling for a jersey rebrand for years. Is it finally on the horizon?

Derek Lee and Patrick Present discuss a potential rebrand for the Anaheim Ducks in the near future

It was thought that a rebrand for the Anaheim Ducks would coincide with the opening of OCVIBE, the entertainment and commercial district that will complement Honda Center and be fully completed by 2029.

The first stage of OCVIBE is set to be completed in 2025, with two multi-level parking garages being built next to Honda Center.

It’s also been long known that Ducks owners Henry and Susan Samueli want the Ducks identity to match with Orange County, notably the “Orange” part of it. Hence the emphasis on orange alternate jerseys over the course of the last decade—outside of the 25th and 30th anniversary jerseys, which featured plum and jade.

With the plum and jade 30th anniversary jersey heading back to the closet next season, it’s expected that the Ducks will once again have an orange alternate.

In their latest “JERSEYWATCH” video, Icethetics reported that “chatter has started heating up with regard to a bigger change, a ‘mightier’ change” for the Ducks, but they don’t know if it’s for next season or the the 2025-26 season.

UPDATE: Icethetics has confirmed that the Ducks will have new uniforms and a new primary logo for the 2024-25 season.

The Mighty Ducks brand and logo are one of the most recognizable among hockey fans and even among non-hockey fans. A return to the plum and jade on a full-time basis would bode well for the Ducks in terms of both popularity and monetary value.
