

Anaheim Ducks captain Radko Gudas has been selected as the club’s nominee for the 2024-25 King Clancy Memorial Trophy, presented annually "to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution in his community."
The winner will be chosen by a selection committee of NHL commissioner Gary Bettman and former winners of the King Clancy Memorial Trophy and the NHL Foundation Player Award.
Tim Washe Signs ELC With Anaheim, Will Make NHL Debut Against Minnesota
The <a href="http://thn.com/anaheim">Anaheim Ducks</a>’ lineup will have a new face when they take on the <a href="http://thn.com/minnesota">Minnesota Wild</a> on Tuesday. After signing his entry-level contract (ELC) on Monday, former Western Michigan Bronco Tim Washe is expected to make his NHL debut, per NHL.com’s Jessi Pierce and Ducks Stream’s Alexis Downie.
Gudas’ second season as a Duck, it was his first as team captain after he was named the ninth captain in franchise history prior to the start of the season. He is the sixth NHL captain from Czechia.
Though he isn’t the most vocal player in the locker room, Gudas being named captain spoke volumes about how much his teammates and the organization value his leadership and his presence.
He has been a strong mentor for Anaheim’s plethora of young defensemen and has been utilized heavily by the coaching staff on the penalty kill and in late-game, defensive situations.

Off the ice, Gudas and his wife, Barb, have been committed to providing their community with both education and athletic opportunities.
The Gudas’ have helped provide learning opportunities for ZŠ Baltimore, a bilingual elementary school located in Beroun, Czechia. Not only are they school partners and board members, but they have helped provide funding for the school’s expansion efforts. The Baltimore Elementary School is expected to open a new campus in 2026 thanks to support from the Gudas family.
Gudas has also launched an online shop of branded merchandise, with proceeds benefiting continued development for the campus and contributing to the school’s stipend programs.
