The Ducks spent their second of three third-round picks on 6-foot-2 forward Ethan Procyszyn (68th overall in 2024) from the North Bay Battalion of the OHL.
Procyszyn's calling card is his physicality and his decision-making in transition.
The Anaheim Ducks Select Beckett Sennecke With the Third Overall Pick
He wasn't given a significant role by his North Bay team and managed to produce 15 goals and 36 points in 62 regular season games. He chipped in six more points in 16 playoff games as Beckett Sennecke and the Oshawa Generals in the OHL semi-final eliminated North Bay.
Procyszyn plays with a high motor, making it difficult for attackers to gain ice or position. He plays with a sense of disruption, pressuring the puck and forcing poor decisions from puck-carriers.
Ducks select Stian Solberg with 23rd overall pick
Once those errors are forced, he then capitalizes with slick hands and an ability to find a way to feed teammates thorugh lanes.
Ducks Select Lucas Pettersson With the 35th Overall Pick
Procyszyn will likely see an increased role with North Bay in 2024-25 and it will be worth monitoring how handily he seizes that opportunity and to what level he produces at.
