After a strong rookie campaign, the Arizona Coyotes make sure to lock up Matias Maccelli for the foreseeable future in the Valley.

The Arizona Coyotes have agreed on a three-year contract extension worth $3.425 million AAV with forward Matias Maccelli according to PHNX Sports’ Craig Morgan.

The 22-year-old forward scored 11 goals, 28 assists and 49 points in 64 games for the Coyotes this past season.

Maccelli was named to the 2022-23 NHL All-Rookie Team. He is proud of the season he had and is looking forward to his future in the Valley.

"It was a good season for me individually," Maccelli said via Coyotes Team Reporter Patrick Brown. "Made the team off the start, and I would say now I'm an NHL player. It definitely feels good, and I think we took big strides as a team, so I'm really excited for the future."

Expect Maccelli to take a big jump in his sophomore season. He already carved out a critical role as a top-six forward and his responsibilities should only increase as he develops into a more complete NHL player.
