Let's look at three potential landing spots for Bruins defenseman Brandon Carlo.
During ABC's broadcast of the Boston Bruins' Feb. 8 contest against the Vegas Golden Knights, Emily Kaplan reported that the Original Six club has received "a bunch of calls" on Brandon Carlo, Morgan Geekie, and Trent Frederic.
Frederic and Geekie are no strangers to the rumor mill, but Carlo is undoubtedly a newer name. If the Bruins end up being willing to move Carlo as a part of their expected retool, let's look at three potential clubs that could look to acquire him.
The Canucks have made multiple big moves already this season. They notably traded J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers and then added defenseman Marcus Pettersson and winger Drew O'Connor from the Pittsburgh Penguins. However, even after adding Pettersson to their blueline, it is apparent that they could still use help on their blueline, specifically on their right side.

With this, they could be a team that makes sense as a suitor for Carlo. He would significantly upgrade their second pairing and instantly become one of their top penaltykillers.
The Stars may have recently added Cody Ceci to their defensive group, but it would not be too surprising if they brought in another notable blueliner before the deadline. Miro Heiskanen is currently out month-to-month, and their right side still could use improvement. Thus, a player like Carlo could grab their attention.

If the Stars acquired Carlo, he could slot nicely on their second pairing over other Stars blueliners like Matt Dumba and Ilya Lyubushkin.
The Oilers also stand out as a potential fit for Carlo. It is no secret that the Oilers have been looking to find an answer for the right side of their second pairing. Carlo would give them a proven top-four blueliner instead of using other options like John Klingberg and Ty Emberson.

Another factor that could make Carlo appealing to Edmonton is that he would be more than a rental. He is signed until the end of the 2026-27 season, so he would provide the Oilers with a long-term solution to their ongoing right side problem.
