This Bruins prospect is continuing to play some great hockey with Providence.

Boston Bruins prospect is one of the club's most promising young players. The 24-year-old forward has been a significant part of the Providence Bruins' offense for multiple seasons. After posting 24 goals and 55 points in 67 games with Providence in 2022-23, he had 30 goals and 65 points in 67 games last season. 

This season has been more of the same from Merkulov, as he has 11 goals and 40 points in 42 games with Providence. However, what's more encouraging about his play is that he is only getting better as the campaign rolls on. 

Merkulov has been on a roll lately, posting four goals and 13 points over his last 12 appearances. With numbers like these, he is consistently producing offense, and one has to assume Boston is paying attention. 

If Merkulov continues to play like this, one has to wonder if it will open the door for him to receive another call-up to the NHL roster this season. He has played in three games for Boston this campaign, where he has an assist. 

It will be fascinating to see if Merkulov can build on his hot streak from here. If he does, it will only help his chances of getting more chances on Boston's roster.
