Former Boston Bruins captain Brad Marchand is stepping away from the Florida Panthers. 

He is leaving the club to help out a friend whose daughter died of cancer last week. 

Marchand will now serve as the guest coach back in his hometown of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

What an honourable act from Marchy!
