BRIGHTON, Mass. -- Pavel Zacha and Charlie McAvoy are each day-to-day with upper-body injuries, Bruins coach Jim Montgomery confirmed on Monday.
Zacha was ruled out of Boston's 5-3 win against the Arizona Coyotes on Saturday after he didn't return to the bench for the second period. McAvoy left early in the third period of Thursday's 3-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres, and missed the Arizona game entirely.
"We'll have more of a definitive answer tomorrow, whether [Zacha]'s a player for us Wednesday," Montgomery said. "Same goes for [McAvoy]. They're progressing at the stage where we can say to the players, 'yes or no' yet for Wednesday."
Zacha was not present at all on Monday, but McAvoy and Brad Marchand skated prior to the team's practice despite not participating with the full group. For Marchand, it was a scheduled maintenance day and he should be full-go for Wednesday.
Zacha (19) and McAvoy (17) rank fourth and fifth, respectively, among the Bruins' point-scorers, and the team is also missing defenseman Derek Forbort (lower body) on long-term injured reserve.
