The 2013 first-round pick signed a seven-year, $54.25 million contract this summer with the Bruins, and Boston expects him to be their long-term first-line center. In addition, he should be a critical part of their penalty kill because of his strong defensive play. JEREMY SWAYMAN IS VEZINA CANDIDATE AFTER CRAZY SUMMER It was a wild off-season for Jeremy Swayman. Negotiations between him and the Bruins certainly got sour, but both sides made it work in the end. Swayman landed an eight-year, $66 million earlier this week and will now be Boston's starting goalie for several years to come.
