Boston Bruins goalie prospect Michael DiPietro had an excellent 2024-25 season with the Providence Bruins. In 40 games during this past season with Providence, he had a 26-8-5 record, a 2.05 goals-against average, a .927 save percentage, and four shutouts. This was good enough for him to win the Aldege "Baz" Bastien Memorial Award as the AHL's best goalie. Now, DiPietro has once again been the AHL's best goalie in 2025-26, and his stats effectively demonstrate this. In 38 games for Providence so far in 2025-26, he leads the AHL with 29 wins, a .931 save percentage, and a 1.92 goals-against average. With this, he has been a massive reason for Providence's excellent 2025-26 campaign. With how much DiPietro has dominated over the last two seasons with Providence, it certainly is possible that he could become a full-time NHL goalie. Eventually, the Bruins should give the 26-year-old a real shot on their NHL roster. He could create some healthy competition for the Bruins' backup with Joonas Korpisalo, who has an .891 save percentage and a 3.30 goals-against average in 26 games this season with Boston. Nevertheless, it is hard not to be impressed with DiPietro's play with Providence again this season. It will be intriguing to see how he finishes off the campaign from here.
