Boston Bruins forward Viktor Arvidsson is the Original Six club's top pending unrestricted free agent (UFA). When noting that he proved to be an excellent addition to the Bruins' second line last season, many are wondering if he will be back with the Black and Gold next season. In a recent article for The Athletic [https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/7370865/2026/06/18/nhl-free-agency-kane-bobrovsky-cassidy/], Pierre LeBrun reported that Arvidsson's agent is still in contact with Bruins management. In addition, LeBrun also shared that he believes that Bruins general manager Don Sweeney would like to re-sign Arvidsson. "His agent, Kurt Overhardt, remains in dialogue with Boston as July 1 approaches. My sense is that Bruins general manager Don Sweeney very much would like Arvidsson back. I wonder if the sides can get comfortable on term, though," LeBrun wrote. When looking at the season Arvidsson just had, it would make a lot of sense for the Bruins to re-sign him. In 69 games with the Bruins in 2025-26, he posted 25 goals, 29 assists, and 54 points. With numbers like these, he was a major part of the Bruins' lineup last season. If the Bruins end up not re-signing Arvidsson, they would need to find a top-six right winger to replace him. It will be interesting to see if the Bruins and Arvidsson can get a deal done from here.
