This is especially the case when it comes to the right wing position, and they are now being linked to a notable forward because of it. According to RG's James Murphy [https://rg.org/news/hockey/sources-bruins-and-oilers-interested-alex-tuch], two NHL sources told him that the Buffalo Sabres [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/buffalo-sabres] are listening to offers for star forward Alex Tuch. In addition, Murphy reported that one of the sources said that the Bruins are one of the clubs that have expressed interest. "Buffalo is listening on Alex Tuch," Murphy's source said. "From what I know, the Bruins and Oilers have inquired, along with a couple of other teams." The Bruins reportedly being one of the teams expressing interest in Tuch is not too surprising. It is no secret that they need an upgrade at their second line right wing spot, and Tuch would provide them with a clear answer for that if acquired. This is not the first time the Bruins have been connected to Tuch, either. Leading up to the 2024 NHL trade deadline, Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman mentioned [https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/32-thoughts-a-note-on-every-team-to-open-trade-deadline-week/] that he believed the Bruins and New York Rangers were two clubs that expressed interest in Tuch. If the Bruins acquired Tuch, there is no question that he would give their offense a significant boost. The 6-foot-4 winger is coming off a strong 2024-25 season with the Sabres, as he recorded 36 goals, 31 assists, 67 points, and a plus-16 rating in 82 games. He also posted 36 goals and 79 points in 74 games with Buffalo in 2022-23, so he has the ability to be a big difference-maker. Tuch is currently in the final year of his contract, where he carries a bargain $4.75 million cap hit. However, with the star forward being a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA), he is undoubtedly due for a significant raise. This is something that the Bruins would need to keep in mind if they acquired him from the Sabres. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see if anything comes from the Bruins' reported interest in Tuch. If they did land the power forward, he would certainly improve their group.
