Former Boston Bruins [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/boston-bruins]captain Brad Marchand stepped up in a big way for the Florida Panthers [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/florida-panthers] in their 6-1 win against the Toronto Maple Leafs in Game 7. No. 63 scored a goal and recorded two assists in the contest to help the Panthers advance to the Eastern Conference Final. Marchand's incredible play has certainly noticed by Bruins [https://news.google.com/publications/CAAqLQgKIidDQklTRndnTWFoTUtFWFJvWldodlkydGxlVzVsZDNNdVkyOXRLQUFQAQ/sections/CAQqEAgAKgcICjCvqtILMO7F6QMwluDfCA?hl=en-CA&gl=CA&ceid=CA:en]legend Patrice Bergeron, as No. 37 had some kind words to say about his former teammate after Game 7. "No surprise! He always steps up and comes up clutch in the big moments," Bergeron said in a text message to The Athletic's Pierre LeBrun [https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/6367118/2025/05/19/brad-marchand-panthers-leafs-game-7-nhl-playoffs/]. "He's done it his whole career and is doing it again right now. I'm really happy for all of his success right now." It is hard to argue with Bergeron's words about Marchand, as the 37-year-old has undoubtedly had plenty of playoff success during his career. Furthermore, Bergeron would know better than anybody about that, as he was a teammate of Marchand's from 2009-10 to 2022-23. The pair also memorably had big Game 7 performances against the Vancouver Canucks in the 2011 Stanley Cup Final. Marchand is proving this post-season that he is, without a doubt, still an elite talent. Following his latest excellent Game 7 against the Maple Leafs, Marchand now has three goals, 12 points, and a plus-11 rating in 12 playoff games this year. Clearly, Bergeron is ecstatic with what he is seeing from his longtime linemate.
