The Boston Bruins [https://thehockeynews.com/nhl/boston-bruins] took a big step in the right direction this season, as they made it back into the playoffs. One of the many reasons for their success was that many of their players broke out, like Fraser Minten, Marat Khusnutdinov, and Jonathan Aspirot. The Bruins will be hoping for more players to break out next season for them as they aim to take another step forward in 2026-27. One Bruins prospect who should not be ignored is forward Dans Locmelis. Locmelis has the potential to become a very impactful player for the Bruins in the future. The 22-year-old center showed promise during his first full season with the Providence Bruins this campaign, posting 15 goals and 28 points in 43 games. He also memorably dominated the AHL after signing his entry-level deal late in 2024-25, posting three goals and 12 points in just six games for Providence. With this, Locmelis has shown some offensive upside and will be looking to take another step forward with his development next season. The 2022 fourth-round pick will be a call-up candidate to watch next season at a minimum, as he is one of the Bruins' most promising prospects. It will be interesting to see how Locmelis performs next season, but he could end up being a solid player for the Bruins in the future.
