Sabres hit the ice in front of fans for the first time since May

The Buffalo Sabres are playing a split squad scrimmage on Saturday afternoon prior to the start of the preseason. The club begins their exhibition schedule on Monday in Pittsburgh, and will play four games in the span of six days.
The Sabres will host the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, play in Detroit against the Red Wings on Thursday, and finish out the preseason on Saturday at Key Bank Center against the Penguins.
It is expected that forward lines and defensive pairings that have been skating together the first two days of training camp will be doing so during the hour-long scrimmage.
