If Alex Tuch ends up testing the free-agent market, these three teams could look to sign him.
The Buffalo Sabres are going to work hard to re-sign pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) Alex Tuch. It is understandable, as he has been an incredibly important part of Buffalo's forward group for multiple years.
Yet, if the Sabres and Tuch do not come to terms on a new deal by July 1 and he tests the market, he will generate a lot of interest. Due to this, let's look at three teams that could target Tuch if he ends up hitting free agency this summer.
Edmonton Oilers
The Oilers need to add another star winger to their top six for Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Because of this, they could be a team to keep an eye on when it comes to Tuch. He would be a major upgrade in Edmonton's top six over players like Kasperi Kapanen and Jack Roslovic, so it would make sense if the Oilers worked hard to sign him this summer. However, they would also need to move out salary to do so.
New Jersey Devils
After missing the playoffs this season, the Devils could be aggressive during the summer. One of their biggest needs is to find a winger to play on a line with Jack Hughes and Jesper Bratt. Tuch would have the potential to be a perfect addition to their roster because of it. He could thrive playing with two stars like Hughes and Bratt.
Boston Bruins
The Bruins could be another team to watch if Tuch ends up reaching free agency. One of their top needs is another top-six winger, and they have been connected to Tuch in the past. It would certainly sting for the Sabres to lose Tuch to a division rival like the Bruins. Yet, it would not be shocking if Boston is among the teams that pursues the big winger if he tests the market.
