    The American Hockey League released their 2025-26 regular season schedule on Thursday, nearly a week ahead of the NHL’s schedule release, and the Rochester Americans will open their 70th AHL season on Friday, October 10th at Blue Cross Arena against the Toronto Marlies and will play the Marlies in their home opener the following day. 

    The Buffalo Sabres affiliate had a record of 42-22-8 under rookie head coach Michael Leone; their first 40-win season since 2018-19 and are expected to have the majority of their young core group, including first round picks Isak Rosen, Noah Ostlund, and Konsta Helenius on the roster.

    The club’s 72-game schedule will consist of 24 weekend home games (17 on Friday nights, four on Saturday, and three on Sunday), and all of their games will be against AHL’s Eastern Conference (six North Division and eight Atlantic Division) rivals.  

    Rochester will face their closest geographic rival, the Syracuse Crunch 12 times, the Utica Comets 10 times, Belleville, Cleveland and Laval eight times, the Marlies six times, the Charlotte Checkers and Hershey Bears four times, and the rest of the  Atlantic Division two times.
